Transmitting Emotions

31 05 2007

As an inspirational writer I have a wealth of topics I can develop only if I’m able to transmit emotions effectively. There is a common thread of circumstances and situations that readers can relate to and at the same time there is a good way to unload emotions you yourselft experience or those who you see people around you handle on a daily basis.

I’m sensitive and observe events and situations develop like in a movie. I try to get in touch with my feelings on a daily basis and see what is trying to teach me. Sometimes it screams, others I can hardly hear it but I feel it deep within my heart and soul; Pleasant, painful, joyful, sad, worried, desperate, it’s all fair play if I can develop it into something someone else can relate to.

I also read good inspirational books in order to perfect my writing and communicate my messages more effectively.

One thing that is difficult to handle is the thought that if you write about certain emotions your readers automatically would think it is you the one going through them when in reality we draw them from so many sources. In that respect sometimes the words don’t come out as fluent and sincerely as we want them to be. I’ve read a few books by famous writers who speak about this and how we need to forget about it and let it flow.

What would you like to read more in the inspirational genre? What key ingredients should it contain?

Music as a Catalyst

I’m not much of a poet but I love to read it and listen to good music lyrics. The music I pick to listen to depends on the mood I find myself in, I guess it is the same for everyone. The words, rythm and the tune work beautifully to stir up body, mind and soul. Like any good art worthy of appreciation it’s goal is to inspire.

Right now I’m not doing much writing since I’m revising but I realize that is very important to write and read on a daily basis. Blogging helps me to keep active in this aspect but I need to do much more than that.

I go into many different directions when it comes to my art. I enjoy music, photography, painting, nature, reading and dancing. They are all expressions that stimulates the senses. I wonder what inspire writers to write and excel. I’m constantly looking for ways to express that which many times it can’t be explained with words. For now I’ll let music move some of my words out onto the paper and who knows where that would take me.

Ways of Inspirations

To be a writer calls one to be attentive to your surroundings, to people, to events, to feelings, to nature, to so many things. The world provides a wide variety of subjects which we can utilize to expand upon in order to get that which we feel on paper. As a writer I’m attentive to that and more. Photography inspire many other things in me, it helps me appreciate God’s creation and be refreshed at the same time. The colors, shapes, sounds… it all helps in creation and that’s what we writers do, we create something from basically nothing.

When I’m out in nature I like to be alone and in silence, there is something special about that setting that stirs my senses in emotions in ways I’m able to translate into words later on. Sometimes I use pictures to inspire a painting instead. It’s all art and even though I’m learning how to paint it is another activity I can enjoy in solitude if I want to.

I’m curious to know what inspire others to create new writings or paintings. Can you share some with me?
