Tax Rebate Checks in Your Account
28 04 2008I was scanning the news online today and saw that the IRS is planning to deposit the tax rebates checks today in the bank accounts. That’s a new way of doing things, we won’t even have to wait for the mail!
The government is hoping that people will go shopping with it to stimulate the economy, but I’m not sure too many people will do that, I know I won’t.
What are you planning to do with your money?

I think I’ll be using it to pay for the gas in my car and my oil heat bill. Maybe this whole economic stimulation plan was the brainchild of an oil company lobbyist.
Keep in mind you must have filed your taxes and filed to receive your refund into your checking account. If you paid taxes, then you will have to wait for a check to be cut.
As for what to do with it…we are going to save most of the rebate and pay off some debt.
Well I’m in Canada, but I just got my bi-annual GST rebate and I’m going to go get waxed so every inch of me feels like a baby’s behind.
I am going to use it to fix the washer dryer room and half bath in my house.
I will possibly spend it on a treat for my kids! Something I had to wait to get enough money for. They need new beds. They’ll be happy!
ive already been spending it by rationalizing in my head “oh i can totally afford to go out to dinner, my rebate check will cover it” haha. so i think all of mine is going to Mr. Visa
I don’t know about you, but I didn’t see mine.
